Nice holiday

We are on Family holiday, our room Was cleaning, every restaurant is very taste, very good food. Animation for children Was very very good, my son dancing, Was smilling, thank you Maria, you are the best. We are just completing 10 days stay at Senza and while we have enjoyed our time in Turkey we feel a review of our stay may help others in the future. The first thing to note is the transfer time from the airport is a solid 2 hours, and it tookWe are just completing 10 days stay at Senza and while we have enjoyed our time in Turkey we feel a review of our stay may help others in the future. The first thing to note is the transfer time from the airport is a solid 2 hours, and it took us approx 45 mins to find our shuttle, there is minimal signage and it's a little chaotic. The driver does stop off at a parade of shops, but this is 1.5 hours in to the journey, there are toilets etc but you are encouraged to leave the bus to start spending - we chose not to as we were so tired. When we arrived at Senza the lobby area is clean and tidy and the staff while a little blunt are friendly enough and accommodating. As many have said in other reviews there is a charge of either 20 pounds, USD, or Euro's for the wifi per device for your stay i.e if you have 5 devices and you're staying for 10 days expect to pay £100 which quite frankly is a liberty for what is advertised as an all inclusive hotel, especially when all restaurants offering free wifi. Our accommodation is rather tatty and the rooms are quite small, plug sockets not fixed to the wall appropriately, dirty paint, minimal clothes storage, and generally quite drab. We booked for a family of five only to find that our youngest had a camp bed wheeled in when we arrived - it was so hard he couldn't sleep in it for one night - and so spent the 10 days in our bed albeit a kingsize. The room is clean but as mentioned facilities and upkeep are not great at all. There are no irons in the room which we found rather annoying, there is a fridge with a couple of random drinks in it but the fridge doesn't work and you need to pay to use the in-room safe! Room cleaning is available but is substandard at best, they will only provide towels when asked and you will need to click the button on the panel by the bed to request housekeeping, it will illuminate a sign outside the door. Overall we did sleep okay and the beds are comfortable. The air conditioning is controlled by the hotel so at random times this goes off in the bedroom making it like an oven. The hotel is generally quite hot in communal areas as are the ridiculously slow sauna like lifts, it feels really uncomfortable and totally unnecessary. The food selection is pretty poor overall as it's the same food day in day out with no variety, so after a few days we decided to eat out at local restaurants - that said what is on offer is tasty. If you think an upmarket canteen or Ikea restaurant and you'll be about right. That said the pizza restaurant on site is brilliant and really tasty, pretty quick and a Godsend given the quality of the main restaurant. Drinks wise if you're after cocktails they come at a charge, as does ice-cream believe it or not, candy floss and bascially anything outside of the restaurant. All inclusive is misleading it's more like 70% inclusive. Beer, spirits, wine is local which is to be expected and pretty nice - they could do with more staff at the bar areas as queue's can be long which is a little frustrating, but overall the bar is okay. The pool area is well kept - despite the usual 'towel on sun beds approach' which isn't managed by the hotel at all and really annoying but the water is clean and the pool warm and accommodating. Be mindful of broken titles as my daughter cut her foot in the pool. The areas around the pool are extremely slippery with adults and kids going over regularly which is not good. The entertainment team are really sweet and make a very large effort to keep all ages going through the day and they are to be commended, great work! The local area is okay, there isn't really a lot to do but there are 'steak-house' type restaurants that are nice to eat in, with shops offering the same cloned goods such as Dior, Armani, etc. It's around 25 mins by car to Alanya which is nice town and worth a look especially going up to the castle in the cable car. Overall it's been a nice holiday and break. Is Senza a 5 star hotel? Absolutely not, it's a 3 start at best. Staff are okay and we had no issues, a few had a bad attitude but on the whole nice people, the place generally clean but as I mentioned its a tatty hotel. The one really positive thing I would say is that Seza is very family orientated and as a result our 16 & 14 year old girls and 8 year old son made friends very quickly with various people and they all entertained each other for the duration. We won't be back for the aforementioned reasons but Senza it not as bad as some people are making out...I guess your holiday is what you make it.
