Superb family hotel

We stayed for 10 nights in August with kids aged 6&8….
We booked on the strength of the reviews on here, and took the more negative ones with a pinch of salt and we were right to….the hotel staff were great, friendly, special shout out to Gino and His team whoWe stayed for 10 nights in August with kids aged 6&8….

Pool was warm enough and clean for kids to stay in all day!
Food had enough range and was of a great standard, particularly breakfast. we ate in the a la carte twice and that was nice to mix it up a bit, as well as eating out in music square too.
Hotel room was spacious and clean and booking the room with the kitchenette was useful to get the fridge and extra bits, we did miss having A/C though.
Public areas were all clean, bar had everything we needed, kids could help themselves to soft drinks and water, and same for beer, wine and coffees for us.
Location wise, five mins walk from small shopping mall with supermarket and pharmacy and various bars and cafes
€7 taxi to the beach at Grandes plays was fantastic (between the two Rui hotels) where two sun beds was €9 with parasol too
We found it too warm to walk with kids to town but a taxi was only €4-€5 each way so the location really worked for us.
We really really enjoyed this hotel for our family holiday!

Firstly the hotel is OK, it's a 3.5Star not 4.

Note we did complain about a number of issue we will raise below but limited resolution or indeed resulting in any outcome, some issues simply are unacceptable and we will take up with the group companies that own this hotel.
1) If you get a room that is not in the new block there is no air conditioning, try and book in the new block that have air conditioning. The new rooms are pretty decent to be fair, a PLUS.
2) The room and cleaners, this is a huge NEGATIVE and pretty disgusting. Before leaving the room one day we noticed that the cleaner used the SAME cloth to clean the toilet (inside, out, and top) as they used to clean the basin, taps, shower etc. Unbelievable, we highlighted this to to the cleaner but unfortunately she did not understand. We also raised with management, who then sent a cleaner to clean the room again. However after seeing this the damage was done, how many times has this happened? imagine how many times the same cloth was used across multiple rooms, guests etc. Not acceptable by any means.
3) Food, this was ok - breakfast was great! lunch not so with limited variety and dinner OK at times, the guy doing the Pizza to be fair did a GREAT pizza. Not enough local (Spanish food) which was a shame, going on holiday you want more local options.
The 'premium' restaurant (a la carte) is not a la carte you have two options Steak or Salmon, everything else is buffet style.
You will find yourself wanting to experience dining options outside the hotel at some point for a change of scene.
4) Dining Room. Very busy at times, which can be expected during peak times during a season, however the staff were overworked, which is not fair on them. They did their very best but management needs to provide more support. One thing that really got us was that a table was 'reserved' we questioned this as we were a large party and no tables were available. The answer we got 'reserved for the owners'!!!! REALLY? what about your paying guests?
5) Sunbeds, and be ready for a mad rush between 6.30 - 7.30am, if you are late you won't get a bed till later in the day (3 - 4pm!), the hotel does nothing to police this and just let it happen, I know that this is a problem in other resorts but the hotel does not accept any responsibility, you go on holiday to relax not wake up and rush to a bed to secure it for the day at 6.30am! Just take note and be prepared in busy times.
If you want to use the hotel towels, not a 10 euro deposit and 1 euro clean fee per towel.
6) GYM - Half decent, some damaged kit. The challenge here is the opening hours, between 10am and 5pm, ideally it would be better to be open earlier (like 7am onwards). Note no music but you can bluetooth to a speaker they have.
Look, some good things and not so...
The management needs to step up and support their staff more, they are over worked. I could go on and make more comments but I will take that up directly with senior management of FTI and Meeting Point Hotels.

great hotel but cleanliness lets it down

On arrival we were welcomed into the hotel however our rooms weren’t ready so we stored them in the luggage room which was no problem as we landed in the morning. We got a call around half an hour later to tell us our rooms were ready. We got a call around half an hour later to tell us our rooms were ready. I read many reviews before coming here which convinced me to book so was excited about our stay.
We then got into our room and it was almost filthy. There’s stains that look like pure grease all over the room (bathroom door, bathroom sink, inside one of the desks) there is also many cobwebs. I went to reception to ask this to be cleaned again and the lady said she will get someone in right away. we then went back to the room and not one thing has been cleaned apart from the floor which was already fine (apart from under the beds, very dusty and things left by previous guests). The cleaners must come to the room make the bed and walk out because nothing has been cleaned since we’ve been here no exaggeration there.
We stayed in a room
with no air conditioning but the fans were powerful enough so this wasn’t a problem. The rooms themselves are very modern and well decorated.
On a higher note the breakfasts are amazing. We were half board and i have not had a bad breakfast. There is always fried eggs, bacon, hash browns and everything you would need for a full english. There was also churros, waffles, pancakes and various kinds of pastry available.
We were able to swap our evening meal at the buffet for lunch as we’d rather go out on a night which was a bonus. The lunches were ok. Pizzas were great but thats about it. Not suitable if you’re picky. The majority of staff in the restaurant were great however some were rude and abrupt. We were able to eat once in the a la carte restaurant for free and it was delicious. we had steak here, i really recommend eating there one night. Staff in there were lovely.
One of the turn offs for me here was the location which is not the hotels fault but a pointer for anyone who wants to stay here and go into corralejo. It is a good 20-30 minute walk to the main strip unless you want to walk across the beach every night which shortened it to 15 minutes. I wouldn’t walk back from the strip at night time though as it doesn’t appear 100% safe so we got a taxi which was only €4
If your not all inclusive soft drinks are €2.50 each and a bottle of stella was something like €3.25. No ice creams, milkshakes or snacks available at the pool bar which is quite frustrating as someone who doesn’t drink. If you want a sun bed before 4pm you must reserve one before 8am. This should be stopped in my opinion because you come on holiday to chill out. Not to set your alarm and put towels down.
When you first arrive you scan a QR code and it brings you to the hotel website full of information about the pool opening times, restaurant opening times, menus, entertainment etc. However the pool does not open at 11am there are people on the sun beds as early as 8/9 am. I looked at the drinks menu to get an idea of what is served at the pool bar but some of the things i asked for (which were on the menu) the bar tender didn’t have a clue about.
There is entertainment most of the day and every night. During the day it’s mostly things like darts, pool, jenga and there is sports such as football and volleyball at the courts across the road. We didn’t participate but it was nice to see all the kids playing together.
Overall was good but expected better.

Overall, the stay was very nice, cleanliness and quality of rooms are important to us and this is very good. It could be more of a variety with food dishes and entertainment was ok. First couple's holiday and so glad we picked here!

This holiday was booked last minute as a treat from being mum and dad. It was our first trip abroad as a couple and we wanted somewhere that we could relax and recharge.

We arrived at the resort, late in the evening, to a welcoming smile from staff and given all the information needed for our stay. Our room was very large and in the Zensation area of the resort which included us having access to the infinity pool located on the top. Everything was so clean, tidy and well presented and definitely helped us relax.
The resort is quite compact, but quiet and spacious at the same time. We never felt that other rooms were on top of us but we were able to get around the whole resort quickly and with ease.
We did not use the main pools, but it seemed quite popular with other residents and was overly noisy. We spent most of our time in the infinity pool and with their own music and bar area it was quite an experience for us, who had never had this luxury previously.
The food was absolutely gorgeous and there was always plenty of it. There was always space for us somewhere in the buffet restaurant and the staff were quick to remove empty plates with a smile. We booked into the Zensation restaurant on our final night and again helped ourselves to some lovely tasting food.
We both agree that we could have stayed longer and if we were to go on a couples holiday again, we would certainly entertain Playa Park.
It is the first holiday where we met every staff member with a smile, some making jokes but all looking happy to help you and to speak with you.
We were very impressed with the resort and it has quickly become one of our favourite places.
