4 Nights Exclusive Ischia Escape W/Flts, Meals & Transfers

Ok, let's start with the positives..... the pool was nice. The girl on reception was nice as was the night receptionist guy and Mario in the dining area; the guy at the pool and the bar was the best employee that we met. The room was cleaned every day. The shuttle was good. However, unless you are German or Italian speaking, there are no tours to avail of from the hotel, as the tours had German/Italian guides. Whilst there is a bus stop outside the hotel, there was no information provided as to what bus should be taken, so we felt as if we missed out/wasted time trying to figure out.... there were no maps of the area/bus stops/focal points provided/highlighted at reception or at any stage. The negatives.... the hotel needs to be radically updated, the cracks and missing plaster need to be filled AND the doors need to be changed, they were so loud to open and close. The green lights in the room and bathroom need to be changed, too. The corridor lights should have automatic off switches. To be clear, despite the advertisement, some rooms don't have a sea view, rather, when you go stand on the very tiny balcony, you see the sea view. Whilst, there is nothing that can be done about it without major renovation, the rooms/showers were tiny. What would have helped would have been a mattress topper as the mattress studs could be felt, additionally the duvet slides off too easily. Despite reporting that the toilet floors on the 1st floor were wet, the were still wet 4 days later. The alcohol selection was quite poor at the bar. Let's go to the major negatives.... dining.... oh my days! The first thing that this hotel needs to do is hire a chef!!! It seems that there may be a person with that title, however, he is not a chef nor is he a cook - breakfast was cold meet, cheese, salad, tinned fruit, pre-bought cakes etc. and the 'coffee' sludge..... revolting. Dinner was unforgettable, for all the wrong reasons, the same salad every night and no onions of any variety. The dinner had to be decided at breakfast.... Some vegetables were placed out with the salad, which meant they were cold for dinner. Starter was usually pasta/risotto/soup, dinner was 'fish'...... no description as to what fish, meat e.g. a chicken leg, schnitzel, tripe, vegetarian e.g. an omelette..... and everything was served with a pinch of rocket and 1/2 potato, served in various cuts, undercooked/overcooked, floating in oil or water. Dessert was usually some pre-defrosted offering. However, the dessert of a pear and a 1/4 orange had to be the worst I've ever had in my 40 years of travelling. Apart from abysmal 'fresh fruit' dessert, the offering of fresh/freshly prepared food was a complete let down e.g. the whole island is covered in orange trees but no fresh orange juice at any stage. The waiter with the beard and glasses had a mis-placed sense of superiority and was so rude. Breakfast and dinner service as like a conveyer belt and surely the volume of un-eaten food being returned to the kitchen/being wasted must have been noticed before now. I can confirm that we won't be returning to this hotel.
