7 Nights Deluxe All Inclusive Kos Getaway W/Flts

I was skeptical because of the bad reviews at first but it was a good price for a 4* hotel for me and my partners first holiday. However things soon went wrong. To begin with it took us over an hour to check in as apparently they had no rooms ready, despite us travelling since 3am and it then being 4pm we were not offered any refreshments or food and told to sit and wait. We were then given a keycard to room but given no directions or help with our luggage in 35* heat. We were up at one of the far bits of the resort 369 so we had to try and figure out where to go whilst walking up two steep hills with no signs. Once we got to the room our keycard did not work, so my partner went back down whilst I stood with the luggage. Once he had come back we tried the keycard again which still did not work, so in 35* heat he had to go up and down the hill 3 times before we were finally able to get in the room when a manager decided to help. He tried speaking to us however we did not understand him due to his English not being very good and us not knowing much Greek. Our room was nice, we were upgraded to a family room so we had amples of space, room was mostly clean however did have some dead bugs on the wall and a broken tile. But the bathroom was not so clean with having no shower screen for the shower in the bath so you had to angle the shower in a certain way and stand on an angle to make sure it didn’t go everywhere, no hand soap the entire week despite asking numerous times, and also not refilling our toilet paper. In addition to this, we could not use the shower that was built on the floor as it would just immediately flood the bathroom, both showers did this but the one on the floor was worse than the other so we had to use two towels to ensure we wouldn’t slip over as well as a bath mat as the floor would be soaked. The safe did not work but we didn’t want the hassle of trying to communicate with the staff so we just left it. In addition to this the fridge did not fit in the cupboard so had to be really careful when opening it. Balcony was very nice and we have an amazing view of both the sea and mountains. We had two tvs however there was only one English Channel that was just the news. No wifi and signal is pretty rubbish the only place you can get wifi is by the main pool at the bottom which is not advertised when booking. We also had issues with hot water and water itself as on numerous occasions throughout our stay we ended up with having no water mid shower and having to sit with shampoo or chlorine in our hair. Electric also goes off a lot so make sure your phone is charged and you keep your aircon on as cool as you can as when it does go off it can be off for 2+hours. Because we were near where the staff stayed we would also often hear mopeds and cars revving it up and down the road so just be prepared if you’re looking for peace and quiet maybe ask to move to a different room. Food is varied and changes every night but it could be that for 2 or 3 nights that there is not very nice food so you don’t eat a lot. There was also minimal signage of what food was what and I would not advise going here if u have allergies as my partner had a mackerel allergy and when asking one of the staff members what type of fish it was she shrugged and said fish. Italian/greek restaurant is nice but it is also a buffet and very similar styled food. We were given a leaflet when checking in which stated there was midnight snacks between certain times however when we went down after not having much for dinner due to it being rubbish there was no food so had to wait until the morning. Pool areas were okay some weren’t cleaned that well such as the infinity pool which was by our room which had all sorts of rubbish in. There were also some other pool areas which had tiles that were broken which young children could definitely injure themselves on. Only two of the bars offer cocktails which we found there was only one nice one on their list and they often had none of the ingredients to make the others properly so found ourselves often asking for a mocktail with vodka in. The best pool in our opinion was the one with slides as it was not too far to our room had plenty of sunbeds with parasols, bar had some snacks, offered cocktails and was usually quiet. The lady who worked at that bar was also lovely and friendly and her English was good. They do offer entertainment however to join in with certain things such as bingo was £5 for one little sheet!!! Entertainer Mikey was lovely always ready for shakey shakey time was brilliant at interacting with us and really made the holiday. The singers that came from South Africa were also wonderful and lovely to hear some live music whilst having a drink at the bar. Would definitely not rate this hotel a 4 star and I would give it an extremely generous 3 star.

When we arrived at resort we were given our door card & that was it, no help to carry cases, no help to locate room, no directions, nothing. We had paid for a superior double with shared pool access, requested ground floor, we were given a standard double, access via main pool, 10 steps up, 5 steps down to room, 5 steps up to cemented area, 5 steps down to pool, I stated categorically that steps were a problem, not walking or incline, but steps, tiles missing around pool, stagnant water in grooves, broken steps, cracked cement, we were moved to a superior double, not once was our room cleaned, no floors washed, no bedding change, no pool towels, I have videos of room, toilet seat did not fit toilet & was not secure. Every night at 5pm all electric went off, I have documented every day & times, hotel manager was the most disgusting, rude, ill mannered person I have ever met, doreen the jet2 supervisor stood with her head down & allowed manager to speak to me in a very disrespectful way, we had to tell her to step in & deal with situation, I was celebrating my 65th birthday with my family & chose this resort from the write up that jet2 gave it & the photos, by no stretch of the imagination is this resort how you describe it, you need to terminate all dealings with this resort, only 2 slides were working, several drinks that were advertised they did not have, during our stay the plastic glasses got smaller, food was very repetitive & not very appetising, breakfast was good, nice salads & fresh bread but the hot food was awful. I am so upset & angry with the whole situation, the managers disgusting manner & jet2 rep not fighting our corner. Show quoted text

Food: - re-used and re-heated from breakfast - Often food is cold - very much the same food each day. - Highly recommend booking the upstairs restaurant from reception. A much nicer atmosphere and calmer place to eat. Make sure you book a day in advance to secure your booking. Pools and outdoor space: - pools are great. Very clean and lovely and refreshing. - Outdoor space is good although it can be a rush to get sun loungers and. - Some parasols are broken and therefore shade is limited. Snack bar and drinks: - the snack bar is very good. They have ice creams all day and also provide a picky lunch with a wrap, fruit, yoghurt, a toastie/sandwich. - The drinks are very hit and miss. You can have the same drink made by 2 different people and it will taste completely different. There is no consistency to the drinks. - In addition, the drink choice and availability is very minimal. Pool toilets: - the toilets were clean however the women’s had no soap or locks on any of the stalls the men’s was exactly the same. Bedroom: - The bedroom and indoor space really aren’t what you’d expect with a ‘4 star hotel’! Our room clearly was in need of some TLC. The front door had a huge hole just below the lock and the cupboards also had some dodgy doors. Bathroom: - Our en-suite again wasn’t up to standard. The shower leaked and frequently flooded the bathroom. The holder for the shower head was loose and therefore couldn’t hold the shower head. This lead to our bathroom being very wet and flooded on numerous occasions. Manager: - The manager was rude and obnoxious on numerous occasions. Clearly he has had no customer service training! I have never met someone so rude and unhelpful! Staff in general: - The staff in reception are actually useless. Upon arrival and checking in they told us our room number and took us to our room. There was no information about the resort, no map, and no information about check out. Overall the staff at reception were just unhelpful and rude. - On an occasion we visited paradise beach (highly recommend visiting) the reception staff called us a taxi which was helpful. We then called them to arrange a taxi pick up to get us back to Aegean View however we were told that they didn’t arrange pick ups. The manager gave us the number of a taxi company however he gave us a false number. The number apparently didn’t exist. With no help or support from the resort, we spoke to locals who managed to book us a taxi back. Again, another example of the resort being completely unhelpful! - Don’t be surprised if you only get one key per room. After many attempts to get a second, apparently it’s ‘policy’! I have never heard of this ‘policy’ before in any other hotel. - The restaurant staff are clearly being underpaid and under valued. Having spoken to other holiday makers, they all have the same issues as mentioned above. No-one we spoke to would visit again.

The exterior of the resort would make my star rating to a 4 if everything that happened inside didn’t impact our experience. The outside is very pretty with a variety of pools to choose from. The all inclusive was ok, but I found brand new staff (not there fault obviously) didn’t do a great job with our drinks, therefore a lot of the time our alcohol drinks was either too strong or too weak. Now, onto the negatives. The biggest issues I have with this resort goes down to the room, buffet and the manager. The room is a let down, our shower kept leaking, and caused a flood multiple times. The quality overall with the room isn’t what you really see on Trip Advisor so *please* bare that in mind. The buffet was the same thing every night with some of the food from breakfast being reused for dinner. Again, we paid a lot of money for better food (and breakfast was cold as well). The upstairs restaurant is better but doesn’t have many options. The manager is rude, unsupportive and useless. We at one point went away to Paradise Beach and they booked a taxi for us. The driver told us that the cafe is open until 7 so they can book a taxi for us. So when we finished our day at 6, it was closed. This isn’t the manager’s fault but when we rang him up to ask if he could book us a taxi to get back safely - surprise surprise he said no. He gave us the WRONG NUMBER as well, so we were given no support to get back safely. Luckily, a lovely family helped us. This isn’t the worse resort but I do not recommend just for the manager alone.

On arrival we were met by the security who checked us in and showed us to our room. We payed more for a sea view room and overall the room was not bad except for the cupboard door not sliding properly, and the safe not locking. Additionally the bathroom door did not shut or lock as it looked like the latch had been smashed off. The hotel entertainment was average but it didn’t bother us too much as we weren’t really here for that. We payed for all inclusive and the food is what you’d expect, however not much variety and half the time it wasn’t labelled so we didn’t know what it was. The bar and food staff worked hard and the drinks were what you’d expect. We were surprised that we didn’t get wristbands for all inclusive, however as it turned out most people who payed did not have one, but some did depending on who checked them in. Room service was non-existent for us, apart from our first day when they knocked at 18:00 when we were getting ready to go out. We turned them away and they said they’d come back the next day however never came back during our week’s stay. The receptionists are appalling and plain rude. We had read reviews before coming that said similar things but we didn’t realise how bad it would actually be. You would either be ignored, or be looked at like an idiot if you ever went there for something. Just very unhelpful. They didn’t appear to have the best English which made communication hard but they were just very rude to us despite us being polite and patient. The shuttle bus is a great idea as when we checked on maps it would take about 50minutes to walk and after taking the bus it did not look like a leisurely stroll. However, this came once every hour and apparently only fit 12 people max, but with 10 seats. As you can imagine, lots of people would be waiting for the bus and it was like a free for all to get on with people pushing past each other regardless of how long they’d been waiting. Can’t blame anyone for doing this though as if you wanted a taxi it would be very difficult, which is not the hotels fault, however if you asked the receptionists to help with a taxi you’d get nowhere. If it was a bigger bus or came more often then this would be better. I will say the pools are very nice, plenty dotted about so it’s usually not too busy and can usually get a sunbed. Around the hotel and pool areas it appeared clean. Overall, it wasnt completely terrible as it is a nice hotel, but there are lots that can be done to make it better, starting with the receptionists! We have enjoyed our holiday in Kos, but would not stay at this hotel again.
