Great family holiday

We stayed at Olivia 4 years ago. I was apprehensive about returning as the children are older now. There was plenty to do. Football, tennis, basketball, bike riding, water sports.
We scuba dived at a local site. See Lucas at aqua pool for different locations depending on ability.

We went on a boat trip with Talli. We booked the boat trip with Christos at the water sports on the beach. It was the highlight of our trip. Snorkelling in crystal clear bays and ending with a beautiful lunch at a traditional Greek taverna with amazing views of the ocean.
The service and food were always very good. Plenty food and drink options. Fresco and Ouzo were our favourite restaurants, both have sea views. The children enjoyed the ice cream parlour. We went to the theatre twice and both times it was difficult to find seats.
We used the spa I had a facial my husband had a massage. We are both happy with the relaxing spa experience.
We were lucky enough to be upgraded for the last two nights to a deluxe room with a private pool. This was an unexpected treat and we will certainly be booking deluxe next time!

Amazing food but terrible sleep

The resort had a very nice atmosphere, very chilled out and never felt overcrowded or too busy. The buffet restaurant did at times feel a bit hectic but that’s the same on any holiday.

The facilities are very good on the resort. We were able to book slots on the tennis and basketball courts. The gym facilities were fine, not particularly large, but a decent selection of equipment. The swimming pools were all nice with the added bonus of being so close to the beach. Never had a problem getting a sunbed.
The staff on the resort were superb, always friendly and made the holiday feel very luxurious. The consistency of the staff service was impressive.
The food was a highlight, the best we have experienced on a holiday by long way. The different restaurants offer excellent variety, and we loved every meal we had.
Our one disappointment was the accommodation. We stayed in a Panorama Junior Suite with a Sea View. We found the sofa bed in the room very small for our children aged 10 and 12 but the hotel did offer an additional single camp bed which meant my son could fit on it.
The sleep hygiene in the rooms is very poor, this is primarily due to the air conditioning. The aircon in our first room actually broke down during the night having kept us up making a noise up until the point that it finally gave up and died. The hotel then told us it had been repaired and we spent a second night in the same room and once again it kept us awake all night with a flashing red light and rattling noise. Having complained again we then were moved to another room but again with air con problems. Unfortunately this was not checked before we moved rooms however the engineers were able to fix it. In total we had three different rooms in a 7 day holiday. In the third room we noticed kids stickers over the air con power lights which suggests that it was not only us who found the lights excessive.
Our issues with the room should have been dealt with more efficiently than they were especially when only there for one week and good sleep / rest is an important part of our holiday.

What a wonderful resort !

So relaxing and family friendly .The facilities were immaculate and there was no need to leave the resort as there was always something to do . The service was amazing and the staff friendly and reliable . The food exceeded expectations at all the restaurants So relaxing and family friendly .The facilities were immaculate and there was no need to leave the resort as there was always something to do . The service was amazing and the staff friendly and reliable . The food exceeded expectations at all the restaurants and even our meals at the buffet were tasty . The Potami bar had live music in the evenings and lovely drinks . Special thanks to Enea (assistant manager of food and beverage ) for being so welcoming on our first night and recommending such lovely wines, he is a huge asset to the Ikos brand and was instrumental in making our visit something to remember. Thank you also to Erietta, who was so kind to our family and played with our youngest (who is 2 years old) so we could enjoy our meal. Dimitra at Anaya ( the Asian restaurant ) was delightful and put a smile on our faces as she was always there to top up our water and drinks. Thank you to Corina from Potami for being so friendly to our 11 year old and 8 year old daughters, and Nickolas from ouzo who was very attentive. Thank you to Alex and Elena from Provence , Konstantina from Anaya , Maria - who we met in reception - and Thomas who helped us by the poolside .
The staff are a huge asset to the Ikos brand and made our visit special. We would recommend this resort as it has something for everyone. We travelled as a family of 5 (2 year old, 8 year old and 11 year old). Everything is taken care of and if you need anything you only have to ask.

Lovely hotel, but mass produced luxury.

Family of 5. First visit. 10 nights.
Had high hopes given reviews and the resort is lovely, but there is room for improvement.
Pros:
-Very clean grounds and beautiful gardens.
-Well maintained swimming pools.
-Helpful and friendly staff, but see below.
-Housekeeping was of a good standard.
-Clean sea with fish.
-Comfortable beds for adults.

Cons:
-Service could be overzealous-particularly in the buffet (e.g trying to remove our plates while we were still eating off of them).
-Although there are different restaurants in the resort, their menus had many ingredients/dishes in common- probably to keep costs down.
-We were offered bread at Ouzo- 3 pieces for a family of 5.
-We asked for Prosecco at the buffet and we were told that they didn’t have any and we were given an acidic tasting fizzy alternative. However, the sister restaurant, Fresco, (in the same building) had Prosecco the next night.
-Room was OK, but there were scuffs on the furniture and the water didn’t drain down the bath plug hole (shower was above the bath). We spoke to a guest relations representative about this early on and saw no action that we were aware of.
-The entertainment at the Teatro was poor quality and repetitive. Very disappointing. Have seen much better at less illustrious resorts.
8 days into our stay, guest relations called to see if we were enjoying our holiday- a little late in the day to resolve any issues.
Overall, it is a really good hotel, but it’s not a slick 5 star.
