It's hard to write a review for this amazing hotel without it sounding totally fake, but when I say that this holiday was perfect, it is true and I am picky! Oceania is the original Ikos resort and some reviews mention that it is different to other Ikos resorts. WeIt's hard to write a review for this amazing hotel without it sounding totally fake, but when I say that this holiday was perfect, it is true and I am picky! Oceania is the original Ikos resort and some reviews mention that it is different to other Ikos resorts. We have stayed at Dassia before and whilst Oceania is perhaps not as low level and spread out, it more than makes up for this with the service of everyone who works here. Oceania is situated in a part of Greece where the staff who work here live locally, unlike some of the other Ikos sites who rely on travelling staff who arrive annually. This means Oceania has staff who are truly invested in ensuring your stay is amazing. From the check-in to the checkout, nothing is too much trouble and it makes a difference.
Vangelis is the general manager who went out of his way to ensure our every request was met. He organised a fabulous boat trip for us and he checked in on us every evening when we had drinks. He organised gluten free beer for one of our party and my eldest Daughter remembered eating a Greek dessert 10 years ago and he organised for one of the chefs to cook them for her. This was way over and above anything you would expect from a hotel stay and just meant that the whole holiday was elevated to a new level. I cannot thank him enough.
We ate in each of the restaurants during our stay and all were superb. Ouzo was amazing for lunch with the Greek BBQ but Beach Club had the best triple cooked potatoes. Both had the orange cake which was a slice of heaven. Provence was amazing for breakfast and dinner and Anaya served Asian food which was so tasty and fresco had Italian delights. You won't be disappointed with any. We did wine tasting early in our visit so we could navigate the wine lists. Nesto was a wonderful host for this experience and was so passionate about the wines.
All the teams that work on the beach and by the pools work their socks off and constantly check in on you to make sure you want for nothing. Sofia on the beach was amazing, as were all the team who kept going in the heat. The loan of a Tesla for a day was great and we explored the local area and a few villages which was great to do and explore the wider area.
Everything about our holiday was perfect so now, I need to work out when we can go back, as this won't be our last stay - it was just too good to not want to go again. Thankyou to the Oceania team for a wonderful holiday and especially to Vangelis for all his care.

Another great family holiday at Ikos

Fabulous 2nd visit to Ikos Oceania. Everything we’ve come to expect. Super helpful and friendly staff. Great food. Wonderful amenities. Lots of family entertainment. I’m sure we’ll be returning again. A big thank you specifically to Ismael who as Beach Buddy was brilliant. He found the AirPods IFabulous 2nd visit to Ikos Oceania. Everything we’ve come to expect. Super helpful and friendly staff. Great food. Wonderful amenities. Lots of family entertainment. I’m sure we’ll be returning again. Not the best Ikos experience

From reading all the other reviews I had really high hopes for our stay at Ikos Oceania.
But I have come away feeling quite disappointed.
I’ll start with the positives though:
Arrival was great and quickly got hooked up to the whatsap concierge. A great service to have.

Arrival was great and quickly got hooked up to the whatsap concierge. A great service to have.
Went to our room which was fine and set up as wanted as travelling with my two children.
The service for the most part was great, a few let downs when ordering drinks at the beach, had to wait 40 minutes several times for water despite requesting from a couple of servers and having the glasses and ice delivered but not the water. I soon learnt to take the water from the room to not be without.
Restaurants were nice, great service at Beach Club for lunch and Ouzo in particular.
Pool very clean and kids club staff were lovely.
Our major let down was in the room for a few reasons.
The rooms are not sound proofed at all, we were constantly woken up by the room above moving about, it sounded like an elephant stampede above us, every morning and every evening. Perhaps we were just unlucky with the people staying above us but it really ruined any lie ins we wanted.
We had issues with ants inside the room (on 2nd floor) whilst this was quickly addressed with housekeeping, they did come back a few days later.
I’m also afraid to say that there was an issue with bedbugs we have realised since coming home. My child and I were both bitten but initially thought these were mosquito bites (despite using sprays). We only realised that they were bed bugs when going to the pharmacy as they have become infected on my child who had to be seen by a doctor who confirmed they were bed bug bites.
This is not something you expect from a hotel such as IKOS although aware it could happen anywhere. I have informed the hotel so they can rectify the issue in that room.

Ikos Oceania – Why Not?

Having been to Ikos hotels in Corfu and Kos we came with a high expectation, and our expectations were exceeded.

It’s a good facility, kept like new, on a hill by the sea.
The best thing is the customer service, everyone (including housekeeping and maintenance) greets you and nothing is too much trouble. Often one is encouraged to try something and with Tania and Sofia the phrase ‘why not’ became a frequent part of both theirs and our conversation. Often one’s needs are anticipated.
The next best thing is the restaurants. They are beyond the normal all inclusive offering and would be highly successful in their own right.
There are pools a plenty for all purposes, one indoors, bars are excellent and there is a full service sandy beach with sunbrellas, beds and towels for all guests.
The room is well appointed and equipped with kettle and coffee maker, stocked fridge, TV allows streaming or Firestick or casting with Chrome cast.

Amazing holiday

We were recommended this hotel by friends and our expectations were very high and they were exceeded in every way! The quality of the hotel, food and drinks were excellent and the service was standout notwithstanding it was peak holiday season. The quality of the hotel, food and drinks were excellent and the service was standout notwithstanding it was peak holiday season. All of the staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem. A special mention to Angela, who looked after us so well poolside! The afternoon cooling towels and sunglasses clean were a treat and the Saturday evening “white party” on the beach was brilliant. The complimentary water-sports were excellent and we would highly recommend a speedboat trip out of the Nautilos water-sports centre on the beach - great fun and a good way to learn a bit about the surrounding area. 5+ stars in every way and we will definitely be back!
