Amazing hotel!

Another fantastic holiday at Mareblue Beach Resort.
Rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. Staff always professional and friendly.
Lovely food and plenty to choose from. Immaculate gardens and sea views are absolutely breathtaking. I cannot wait to return to this fabulous hotel.Another fantastic holiday at Mareblue Beach Resort.

Brilliant Holiday

Returned back from a holiday at mareblue, September 2024. Weather averaged 28/34 degrees. 2 pools, 1 main pool & 1 adult only. Breakfast, lunch and dinner selection is standard for all inclusive. Plenty of choice. Pool bar snacks were the best I’ve seen on offer including mini burgers, hotdogs, pasta,Returned back from a holiday at mareblue, September 2024. Pool bar snacks were the best I’ve seen on offer including mini burgers, hotdogs, pasta, pizza, toasties etc. Drink selection could be improved on. Hotel was very clean. Staff were polite. Hotel room was really nice and the aircon system worked wanders. Hotel is remote, but car hire desk inside hotel, or another on offer on the beach front. Shop and 2 restaurants on site. Small town located approx 15 min drive away. The hotel offer a photography service, no obligation to purchase the photos taken, however they do charge approx €13 per photo. Plenty of sun loungers, never struggled to get one at any time of day. Wasps are hovering about, but this is down to people leaving drinks/food lying around and not cleaning up after them self. Overall, hotel has everything you need, clean, friendly staff, 100% would return and would recommend.

Okay, but needs improvement

We spent a week which was pleasant enough a few things to note however; Very surprised that there are no signs of anyone to assist with luggage and guests are expected to drag their cases to their rooms. We did ask for a bellboy and waited 10 minutes. We did ask for a bellboy and waited 10 minutes. We have been to many 4-starHotels and offered a drink on arrival. Nothing was forthcoming here however there is a bar in reception. We found this quite odd to have the main bar of the hotel right next to the reception and consequently brightly lit all evening which doesn’t bode well for a nice atmosphere.
We had a Seaview room with glorious views !
The beds are single, pushed together and quite small and we are only slight people. The mattresses are quite hard. The room facilities are basic and there is a lack of quality toiletries available in general. These rooms are tired and in need of an upgrade.
Whilst the public areas were generally well kept we didn’t really see that many cleaners
The main buffet restaurant offered a huge variety and the quality was good. Olive restaurant was disappointing but the Italian pizza restaurant was great. It was also good to have pizza slices available during the day. The food court was also excellent if you didn’t want to go to the main restaurant at lunchtime and remain around the pool area , the relax pool was lovely and a good place to head to at the end of the day. Surprised that there is no lifeguard in the main pool area but maybe this is restricted to peak months only.
Animation team were extremely friendly and cared about the guests enjoyment. evening entertainment was mainly good
Music in the bar close to reception didn’t seem to be that great and the acoustics were terrible and the areas seem to be full of smokers !
For elderly and people who are not to fit or disabled this hotel does have some steps that require a degree of navigation so just be aware of this
The staff were generally friendly and courteous and when we needed something like clean towels or assistance with the room safe, they were on hand quickly. Please note that this hotel does not offer any iron or ironing board which we found unusual for this rating hotel.
They did seem to be many wasps around the pool area but seemingly quite harmless if a little annoying however what was extremely frustrating were the abundance of mosquitoes and we left the hotel with about 30 bite marks which was really unpleasant and necessary. The hotel really needs to get a grip on keeping guests safe and provide spray to the public areas, this shouldn’t be too costly for them and would make a difference! Unfortunately, this is going to be a lasting memory that we didn’t really want.
When I’m more positive note We hired a car via the hotel and were pleased with the offer for four days.
The beach in front of the hotel is quite nice on the other side. There is another beach with a lagoon which is great also generally it’s really stunning. There are a couple of restaurants just outside the hotel at the rear which look fabulous overlooking the sea for a light lunch if you fancy a change and there is also a lovely music cocktail bar next door sadly we only discovered this on our last day otherwise we would have gone there, especially given the all inclusive cocktails were not that great however paid cocktails were reasonably priced as was wine from the à la cart menu otherwise all inclusive wine was barely drinkable
Review, but I just wanted to capture these points for those who are thinking of booking at Mareblue hotel. There are many pros to staying here but it is let down by quite a few negatives I’m afraid despite which we did have a pleasant stay.

Amazing holiday and place to stay this is our 3rd time here same hotel, I have used the Spa twice here , Amazing therapy staff I had Popi this time , perfect pressure and very friendly , Amazing hotel and beaches , lots of relaxing ! Just got back from a week at this hotel. I’ve listed below all of the pros and cons.
The biggest issue was the all inclusive drinks menu which was by far the worst selection I’ve ever had. Also while we were at the hotel, there was a major issue withJust got back from a week at this hotel. I’ve listed below all of the pros and cons.
The biggest issue was the all inclusive drinks menu which was by far the worst selection I’ve ever had. Also while we were at the hotel, there was a major issue with wasps around the pool and the pool bar area. This may just be a problem at this time of year, although other reviews have mentioned as well. One plus is that the evening entertainment was actually better than most I’ve seen at similar hotels. The female singer and male keyboard player were exceptional.
We did change rooms and the reception team were good at arranging this. The first room we had was very dark and felt like we were in a basement, the second although a little tired was considerably better. Even with the new room, however, there is no privacy on the balcony as the partition was far too low and you could see the person in the room next door. I’ve never had this issue at any hotel I’ve stayed in before.
I would say that this hotel is much closer to a three star than four star.

Food in main hotel generally good.
Pool area and grounds very good other than wasps!
Second room ok if a little tired. First room felt like we were in a dungeon!! Reception staff were good in arranging move to second room.

Night entertainment actually pretty good
WiFi was okay

Cons
Drinks on all inclusive not good. Worst I’ve ever had. Weak beer horrible wine.
Sparkling wine not included, latte or any coffee other than filtered not included. Very restrictive. Even a bottle of water was chargeable.
Food in pool bar is ok but is covered in wasps,really unacceptable. Whole area full of wasps.
No waiter service in any bar or restaurant
It’s very remote. Fine if you want to stay in the hotel. Not good if you want to get to other areas. Even getting a taxi was a little hit and miss.
