Great value hotel

This little gem of a hotel in a quiet but central location in Montecatini was excellent value. All the staff were extremely helpful from making us welcome, providing useful information on the town plus other tourist spots -excellent customer service. We stayed on a half board basis with good food and a varied menu. Rooms were a good size and very comfortable. The organised trip on funicular and wine tasting in Montecatini Alto was a lovely experience. Would recommend a stay here in this beautiful part of Tuscany.

To many negative reviews My wife and I got a deal via TravelZoo to stay at Hotel Reale which included breakfast, dinner, a complimentary bottle of wine, a welcome drink, a free round-trip ticket on the funicular and a wine tasting (with snacks!) in Montecatini Alto. I just wanted to say that - for the price - the hotel was absolutely fine. It was clean, the room was a decent sized, the room was cleaned every day, the beds were comfortable. We had bed & breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was continental style, also there was a pancake machine which was a bit different. Dinner was choice of three first courses, and three second courses and a dessert. If you could not find a choice of your liking then you are very fussy. For us, it was a great place to stay, during which we explored the local area, including Montecatini Alto, visited Florence, visited Luca and relaxed with our books near the lemon trees in the hotel garden. All in all, I very highly recommend this hotel as a lovely, well situated place to stay to enjoy a delightful part of Italy. The hotel was charming, the staff were friendly and helpful. If you want a great place to stay that is brilliantly located and super reasonably priced, stay here. And - if you are a light sleeper - bring ear plugs.

Family run over 3 generations. The family are very much in evidence and eat in the restaurant. The deal they offer is exceptional value with half board, a welcome drink , a bottle of wine, tickets for the funicolare and wine tasting in Montecatini Alto. The dinners were well- cooked , often locally inspired and ample , served by a very friendly staff . The outside seating under the trees is very pleasant and its location very close to the main street of the town is ideal . The decor is somewhat dated but this did not affect the overall experience of staying here.

The standard room is like a prison .Dimly lit ,horrible cheap decor ,no tea or coffee facilities, absolutely no comfort whatsoever .we up graded to a superior room which I would call a standard room ! The welcome drink is held in a large room which is very formal and unfriendly.There is a lovely small bar lounge which have been so much better. The dining room is laid out like a retirement home ,lines of close together tables ,instead of spread out. The breakfast was good though,not great but good . The best thing about this hotel is it's staff apart from 1 man who was seen every day and was not at all friendly .he was possibly the manager . As for the town ,it was deserted .there are many places empty that were once grand . It has no atmosphere and lacks any sort of holiday feeling . We managed to find only 1 spa open at a hotel which was lovely. My advice Stay in Lucca .it's great there . But .. a big thank you to the reception staff and dining staff

We got a super deal through Travelzoo and weren't quite sure what to expect - but while the rooms were quite basic and the walls thin, they were very clean and well-looked after. The food, while it wasn't quite what we expected from Tuscany, was plentiful and tasty. But the staff, the staff were superb! Friendly, efficient, helpful - they made us feel so welcome! The hotel's location was very good - a shortish walk from the station and from the various attractions in Montecatini. All in all, this was excellent value for money!
