Established in 2013, the Dreamtel Group of Hotels and Resorts or also known as “Dreamtel Group” made bold appearance with its first property – Dreamtel Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. From Dreamtel Kota Kinabalu’s humble beginnings, the management currently has 2 hotels in Indonesia and London respectively.

Sabah Tea is Borneo’s sole and one of the world’s few organic tea farms. A visit to the tea garden is both educational and enjoyable, with guests able to participate in a range of recreational activities such as obstacle courses in the Sapaon Recreational Area, hiking the trails to the top of Kamunsu Hill, or taking a night walk to observe the unique insect life. The tree house at the Sabah Tea Garden and the Desa Deer farm is well worth a visit to this lovely resort plantation.

Visitors can, of course, take a tea factory tour and even wander about the tea garden when visiting a Tea Garden. Take as many photos as you like because, believe it or not, your front view will be a distant vista of the magnificent Mount Kinabalu.

Overnight guests have the option of staying in a classic long house, a cosy cabin, or a campsite for those who like to sleep beneath the stars. There is a soccer field, as well as an event venue, café, and souvenir shop.

Hidden in a meander-belt forest on the fringe of the beautiful Tungog Lake, the Tungog Rainforest Eco Camp (or TREC for short) offers a unique insight into the mysterious life of a lowland Borneo Rainforest. There are ten live-in observation platforms called “camp-platforms”, with limited accommodation for only twenty eco-visitors at any one time. Stay at the Tungog Rainforest Eco Camp for your next conservation retreat, research trip or educational project; or simply sit-back on a “camp platform” and absorb the smells, sights, and sounds of the Borneo Rainforest. Make the Eco Camp your forest refuge or your base for an authentic Borneo rainforest experience.

The hotel sits on top of the hill overlooking the town of Sandakan. This is a small town in the East of Borneo and is the stepping-stone to the rest of the island, the world's last unspoilt rainforests of 'The Land Below the Wind'. Sepilok Oran Utan Rehabilitation is just a short drive away. Sandakan Airport is a 20 minute taxi ride away, while there is also an excellent connecting air service via Kota Kinabalu from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong. Sukau-Kinabatangan River and Selingan Island (Turtle Island) are both about a 90-minute drive away.

Selingan Island offers 25 comfortable rooms each with air-condition, en-suite bathroom and twin-beds.

The facilities here are basic but clean as it offers the turtle watching experience and conservation of the island and not so much on luxury stay, so bear that in mind when you come to visit. There is a small cafeteria that serves buffet style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner included in your package. You may also find limited choice of alcoholic beverages here for purchase.

If you need to get snacks or taking home some souvenir, there is a souvenir shop. An exhibition hall is to provide more insights on the conservation effort and about the turtles.
