It was a terrible experience. It's a long comment, but it can be useful if you read it all through.
As a tourist who travels a lot, I've always been in different places with different kinds of accommodation (AirB&B, Bed&Breakfast, other hotels... etc).

As a tourist who travels a lot, I've always been in different places with different kinds of accommodation (AirB&B, Bed&Breakfast, other hotels... etc).
Being in a hotel means that you pay for a place where the room has to be cleaned every day, and nothing has to be removed from your room or touched (ofc if it's not for cleaning. i.e., if the luggage is in a different position because they had to clean, it is totally fine, no complaints about that).
Here comes the problem: after two days, I've *gently* asked at the reception if they may send someone to clean our bathroom's floor and to change the towels. It was dirty with hair and dust: we waited for two days before going to ask for it, because we thought that they may have forgotten to clean or something (that's strange but can happen if the place it's big and you are busy, I suppose).
A maid was sent, and from the first moment, she started to talk in German, claiming that "everything was clean" (we could translate just because one of us knew the language a bit; otherwise she would have just be complaining things with a polemic face on and in a language we couldn't understand perfectly - we clearly declared *many times* that no everybody could understand what they were saying).
After cleaning, she went out of the room, calling another maid, speaking in German: one of us was having a phone call in the corridor (we were 3 people) and saw the two maids clearly angry and making fun of us. After a few moments, both two maids entered the room and started complaining *again*, saying things like "everything is clean", "where's the problem?" (everything in German ofc, so we could not clearly understand. Oh, and that's obvious that everything it is clean if you have just clean...). We tried to explain that right before it was truly dirty, but nothing changed, and they went out of the room saying bad things in German.
In addition, even before this situation, we noticed that some of our things had been opened without permission, such as a bag of ours (usually we stayed all together away all day to visit the city, so none of us returned alone at the hotel or something else). Fortunately, nothing was removed from the inside.
So, summing up: none of us wants a perfect service because it's clear that running a hotel in a big city like Berlin can be something difficult at times. The point here is to be treated with respect: we are not just clients, but people coming from abroad in a new place. We don't want to bother no one, but just to spend a good vacation!
Why did we have to bother the reception if the room was clean? That's no sense. We did it because the room was, in fact, dirty, and as I said before, I've asked gently and with respect to have it cleaned up.
None of the maids were respectful to us, and in addition, we had to be treated badly (terrible looks to us, bad things were said with no reason. As I said, none of us was disrespectful to them or to the reception at any moment).
That's not a kind of accommodation we wanted and expected: being more pragmatic and realistic, besides the "human pov", we paid for a service and we have the right to ask at the reception if there's something that doesn't fit with the accommodation we should have had.
It's due to the hotel to employ people who can work properly in this field and treat clients in the correct way. Being rude, aggressive, insults someone who can't understand you... that's not a way to run out a service like this.

Absolutely do not come here!!
Husband booked the children and I, a cheeky couple of days in berlin, unfortunately he didn't read reviews, this place is horrible, dirty, changed rooms as first was very unsatisfactory, the upgrade not much better!Absolutely do not come here!!

Avoid at ALL costs! Misrepresented on Expedia. My Husband didn't read the reviews here on Trip Advisor. All recent reviews are spot on... This place is more like a hostel. It is dirty, smells like smoke ( said it's non-smoking), old and terrible condition. It has a handwritten note atAvoid at ALL costs! Misrepresented on Expedia. It is dirty, smells like smoke ( said it's non-smoking), old and terrible condition. It has a handwritten note at front desk saying they are remodeling and expect noise. We asked for a remodeled room after reading the reviews but upon checking in were given a disgusting, old room. I could hear the neighbors TV clearly. So we asked for a different room and it was just the same. We immediately returned the keys and said we aren't going to stay. All of a sudden the reception couldn't understand English and walked away. They charged my Credit card and when we told Expedia they lied to Expedite and said we did stay there. We have a receipt from the wonderful hotel we went to right after. So I'm working with my credit card company now. But save yourself the trouble....Don't book this run down joint!

When I got to the hotel I found out they didn’t have A/C, I am sure that it needs to be mentioned on a booking platform since it is definitely not what you expect from a hotel. I paid twice the regular price for some reason, but I got a room that was in a terrible condition and looked like renovation there didn’t happen since 1960s. A cherry on the top was that there was a construction just outside of my window. Every single day I would wake up at about 7am cuz of the construction noice and Polish construction workers screams.

No information in advance that the entire hotel is under construction, just a sign at the reception. No discount due to the construction work. Scaffolding around the entire hotel.

It smelled of tobacco in our room so we got to change to a smaller room, didn't receive a discount for that though. First they didn't believe me at the reception, "it can't smell of tobacco since the rooms are no-smoking". Gaslighting much?
Full-covering carpets and interior from the 70s probably, so I guess the renovation was way overdue.
No air if the windows were closed, and if you had them open there was a lot of noise and they started drilling at ~8 (7?) in the morning. The staff was also really loud in the corridors. And the housekeeping woke us up although we had the "do not disturb" hanging on the door.
Breakfast was very boring and limited, the coffee tasted like it had been heated up from the day before, price was €16.50.
The hotel felt unsafe due to the scaffolding right outside the window, like someone could easily break in and steal stuff.
The construction workers/staff smoked DIRECTLY outside our window.
Can't honestly recommend this hotel.
