4 Nights Secret Italian Lake Getaway W/Flts & Meals

The location and the town are lovely. Very peaceful out and about at this time of year. We had a nice view over the lake. As lots of others have said the food was excellent and the staff are brilliant. Something sweet for a dessert at lunchtime would be a good addition. We were so excited to come and paid a fair bit extra for the upgrade to the wellness suite. This should have been a real treat and should have been relaxing. Sadly the hotel decided to put a family with 3 small children in the room opposite us which completely ruined any peace and relaxation. Loud, shouting, crying, banging doors, running up and down the corridor at all times of the night and day, even 2:30am in the morning. We were woken up early every morning by them and all week their behaviour completely ruined any chance of relaxation for us. I know the hotel cannot control how guests behave but to give a family with small children a room opposite the wellness suite was just not sensible. To be honest the upgrade was a total waste of money. Also with the rooms there didn’t seem to be any way to say no thank you to the house keeping team. Once we check in we really don’t want any daily room cleaning, we prefer the room to be left alone. But there were no “do not disturb” signs that you could leave on the door handle if you went out for the day. Beds were extremely firm and pillows hard and poor quality. The spa was excellent with a great range of facilities. But the hotel have a policy of allowing naked men to strut around freely. I don’t care what is acceptable in other countries, I DO NOT want to see men waving their genitals around when I am trying to relax. To keep everyone comfortable surely there should be an expectation for people to keep their swim wear on, not everyone agrees with naked bottoms and genitals touching everything. Just disgusting and could be so easily solved so that nobody is offended. I’m gutted to have to say these negatives as the staff clearly work really hard and our stay could have so easily been a 5 star holiday but sadly the issues above really spoilt our stay

We had a very pleasant stay at the Al Sorriso. The hotel is set in a beautiful location surrounded by snow capped mountains at this time of year, with lovely easy walks around the lake. Our room was fine and decorated in a scandi style with a view down to the lake from our balcony. There was a good choice at breakfast and the evening meal was 5 course fine dining. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. The pool area is very good but we were disappointed that the spa area did not open until 2.30pm. It would have been better if it was open in the morning as well for us. The only other problem we had was that it was not possible to get a taxi to the station on departure even with more than 24 hours’ notice. This meant that my husband (who is 70) had to lug our suitcase a mile to the station in the rain. We were soaked by the time we arrived which was not ideal for our onward journey. I have already written a review for the hotel suggesting that they provide transport for their guests to the station rather than relying on often unavailable taxis.
