Excellent stay

Third visit and did not disappoint once again. Friendly welcome from reception staff, room first class. Breakfast excellent and staff went above and beyond. Was really looking forward to this stay after having seen it on TV. Upon arrival, we were originally offered a room on the 5th floor but I'm a light sleeper and have a natural skill of ending up with people who move around like elephants above me, so I askedWas really looking forward to this stay after having seen it on TV. Upon arrival, we were originally offered a room on the 5th floor but I'm a light sleeper and have a natural skill of ending up with people who move around like elephants above me, so I asked if a top floor room was available and the receptionist kindly changed us up to the top floor. It was still a still a Superior Double balcony room, but the balcony prevents you seeing much other than what is straight in front of you. The room itself was pleasant enough, but still very dated. The kettle was like toy kettle and I was astounded to find they charged for a bottle of water - normally I'd expect the 1st bottles to be complimentary like they are at just about every other hotel I've stayed at, particularly boutique hotels. The bed was somewhat firm, but comfortable enough for a weeks stay. TV was a decent enough Samsung with HDMI ports which worked. Bathroom was 'cosy' and the over bath shower was somewhat 'snug.' Housekeeping wasn't the best. Had to physically remove the sheets and dump them on the floor if you wanted them changing. Decaf coffee wasn't replaced so had to ask for it - then got given a months worth of sachets. Breakfast in the Fat Cat restaurant was good with a wide variety of choice, but you had to time it right to get hot bacon or scrambled eggs. Positives were the staff (really friendly) and the location (although 1/2 of the square is currently a construction site) Negatives - overpriced mediocre hotel, and to charge staying guests to visit the museum in the basement, well, that's just taking the proverbial and fleecing everything possible from your guests. We're back in 5 weeks for another short visit and we've booked elsewhere due to poor overall guest experience.

We paid £1800 bed and breakfast for seven nights. We asked to be moved from the original room allocated as we wanted a top floor room to avoid any overhead noise. The room was smaller but we were happy with this if it was quieter. However, we’re notWe paid £1800 bed and breakfast for seven nights. However, we’re not sure if this made any significant difference because the walls are so thin you can hear everything from adjoining rooms, in fact the guy next door to us may as well have been in our room and the family on the other side sounded as though they were having a pool party! For a “boutique hotel” having to pay for the bottled water in the rooms is poor, at least give one complimentary bottle. The tea/coffee making facilities were adequate but again, for a boutique hotel, to not offer at least some biscuits was, again, poor. Personal choice, but the mattress was far too firm. Housekeeping was hit and miss. I had at least expected that any pillows that were on the floor to be placed back on the bed when it was made and for clean bedding to be used every day, which it wasn’t. There was a fair breakfast selection and the food was of good quality. Trying to get an early box breakfast wasn’t straight forward. The request was made at reception and we were told we’d get a phone call to confirm; there was no call. When we were back in reception later we asked again to be told that the kitchen couldn’t understand his request over the phone so he had to send a text and an email and he hadn’t heard back. We did however get the breakfast the following day. Residents also only get a discount into the underground bunker, after having spent over £1800 I would have thought that this could have been a complimentary entry. All staff were helpful and friendly. My partner spends over 150 nights a year in hotels so is suitably qualified to make comparisons and in his opinion this hotel is at best average, not worth the money and somewhere that we would not stay again.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The location was great, and we had no issues walking around Prague. We also enjoyed the attached restaurants breakfast, which was included in our stay. The restaurant was open early, which helped us see destinations like the St. Charles bridge before the crowds. At times,Stayed here for 3 nights. The location was great, and we had no issues walking around Prague. We also enjoyed the attached restaurants breakfast, which was included in our stay. The restaurant was open early, which helped us see destinations like the St. Charles bridge before the crowds. At times, our room did feel warm, and we traveled in the fall. So if you are a hot sleeper, I would recommend bringing a small fan with you. Overall a good stay.

Couldn't fault this superb hotel, staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable when asking about trips, transport etc. Room very comfortable and clean and a fab view of Wenceslas Square especially on the evening.
